Gennum's GN1052 is a fully integrated silicon germanium BiCMOS transimpedance amplifier, providing wideband, low noise pre-amplification of signal current from a PIN photodiode or APD.

It features differential outputs. A decoupling capacitor on the supply is the only external component required.

  • Transimpedance gain = 4k? into a 100? load (differential)
  • Input current overload = 2.6 mA pk
  • Upper Bandwidth (-3dB) = 13GHz
  • Operates at OC-192 / STM-64 up to 11.3 Gb/s NRZ rates
  • Optimized for PIN photodiodes
  • Can be used with APD (0.4pF) at 10Gb/s
  • RSSI (Receive Signal Strength Indicator)
  • Operating junction temperature range = -40 to +125°C
