Semtech releases new LoRa smart home device for IoT applications
Semtech Corporation, a provider of analog and mixed-signal semiconductor products and advanced algorithms, announces the launch of the new LoRa Smart Home Devices (LLCC68d) extends LoRa’s market applications from industry-class low-power wide area networks (LPWANs) to smart home, community and consumer applications. The transceiver provides low power and extensive coverage for Internet of Things (IoT) devices in indoor and adjacent areas to connect sensors and actuators for security, environmental monitoring and convenience applications. LoRaWAN® distance world record broken, twice. 766 km (476 miles) using 25mW transmission power
After almost 2 years, the world record of 702 km (436 miles) has been broken. Not once but twice. On 13th of July 2019, the record was broken by 39 km, setting a new record distance of 741 km. Interestingly, this record only held for 5 hours as another new world record was set with an astonishing distance of 766 km (476 miles). Read more
Semtech and Smart Parks Work to Protect Wildlife
According to a recent announcement, Smart Parks and Semtech have teamed up to deploy LoRa devices and LoRaWAN protocol via 55 gateways with the goal of protecting wildlife, improving conservation and better management of parks across more than 16 million miles in countries like Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, India, Malawi and the Netherlands. TTI Now Stocks Murata’s LoRa Module
Murata’s Type ABZ module is a new, compact, low cost, low power wide area network (LPWAN) wireless module that supports the LoRaWAN long-range wireless protocol. This new stand-alone module measures 12.5 x 11.6 x 1.76 mm, and is constructed in a metal shielded package and comprises a Semtech SX1276 ultra-long range spread spectrum wireless transceiver and an STMicro STM32L0 series ARM Cortex-M0+ 32-bit microcontroller (MCU). An integrated TCXO with robust low drift thermal characteristics provides an accurate clock source for the RF transceiver. Read more
